About Me
Hi, this is Yao Lyu (Chinese: 吕尧, Pinyin: Lǚ Yáo). I am a Postdoc Fellow in the Social Innovations Group at the School of Information, University of Michigan (Mentor: Dr. Tawanna Dillahunt). I received my PhD degree in Informatics at Penn State IST (Committee: Dr. John M. Carroll [chair], Dr. Mary-Beth Rosson, Dr. Priya Kumar, and Dr. Marcela Borge).
My research focuses on accessibility and human interaction with emerging technologies. I'm currently working on a long-term community-based study of the impact of AI on marginalized populations. My work has been published in CHI, CSCW, DIS, the International Journal of HCI, ASIS&T, and iConference. I have also been honored with paper awards from CSCW(2024*2) and iConference(2022).
